Acne Creams

Acne creams have not necessarily received the popularity and attention they deserve because of the active word “cream.” Acne and cream seem to contradict each other. But realistically speaking, acne creams are actually one of the best ways to go. As a whole, they make up some of the best acne fighters in the industry. But the common misconception is that being a cream, they will clog your pores and end up making acne worse. So how does it work?

Well despite what you have been taught to believe, your skin needs moisture. OIL IS NOT THE CAUSE OF ALL ACNE! In fact, the absence of deficiency of oils can actually cause more acne than excess oils do. Your skin needs these oils to function just as your body needs moisture in general to cushion joints and otherwise function properly. When you dry out your skin with harsh chemicals like benzoyl peroxide, you are doing yourself no favors.

With this in mind, acne creams as a general rule, or at least the best acne creams, only use the best of acne fighting ingredients or rather the gentlest. So you will not see harsh chemicals like benzoyl peroxide, which often causes greater breakouts than you may have suffered before, especially if and when you should stop using it. Instead, you may see ingredients like salicylic acid, witch hazel, or even tea tree oil, all of which come without side effects and in some cases increase the good oils in your skin.

But as you might have picked up on, acne creams also moisturize the skin. They restore that balance, and quite frankly they keep your skin soft, supple, healthy, and glowing. And despite previous misconceptions, they will keep your skin's excess oil production down. Your skin creates excess oils largely in response to a lack of oils or otherwise to compensate for what it feels is a deficiency. By properly moisturizing, you will see softer skin and no peeling throughout the day. But you will also see decreased shine and otherwise.

All in all, if you are looking for the best acne treatment, it is extremely important to consider the best acne creams on the market. You should of course use an acne wash as well to clear away impurities, dirts, and otherwise things that have built up on your skin. But the best thing to do is to follow up any good acne wash with an even more impressive and in some cases more powerful acne cream.

And just in case you're worried about the cost of buying more than one acne fighting product, you will be pleasantly surprised to know that many acne creams are extremely affordable. You won't be able to find them for $5 by any means. But many consumers have found the best acne creams at prices around $30 for bottles that often last 3-4 months rather than just one month, meaning that in the end, you are actually spending less than you would have on some worthless and drying products.
