Ever since people can remember, women have tried to get rid of the stretch marks that appear on their abdomen during pregnancy.

There are also other stretch marks that could appear on such places as the breast, hips and buttocks during rapid weight growth.

Even though there have been many different ways that people have tried to ward off the effects of stretch marks, one of the most common ways that has been used for years is through the use of cocoa butter.

Cocoa butter and stretch marks are almost synonymous because of the use of the cream for this purpose. Most people begin to applying cocoa butter to their skin on a daily basis whenever they become pregnant in order to keep the stretch marks at bay.

The fact of the matter is, however, that there are no scientific studies to prove that cocoa butter could have a good effect on the skin in order to prevent stretch marks. There are some studies that show that such things as vitamin E., when applied topically, can help to not only ward off stretch marks from appearing, it can also help to make them fade once they appear.

Stretch marks actually appear because of a tearing or stretching of the dermis layer of the skin. The skin has three different layers, the epidermis, or outer layer, the dermis and the subcutaneous stratum.

The stretch marks actually occur in the middle layer of the skin which has the job of keeping the human skin elastic. Once the stretch marks occur, however, they only fade and rarely ever go away completely without some kind of surgical treatment.

There are several different options for you to get rid of stretch marks if the cocoa butter and stretch marks treatment does not work well for you. These would include such things as laser surgery and also abdominoplasty.

Most people, however, never consider abdominoplasty because it is so invasive and expensive to have done. Provided the stretch marks have not torn the dermis layer of the skin, laser surgery can be quite successful in helping the stretch marks to fade.

However, our research has shown a far less painful and expensive stretch mark cure is available in the form of a stretch mark prevention cream.

Cocoa butter and stretch marks can only go so far – The best stretch mark creams will have a blend of natural ingredients that work in synergy to help repair and remove existing stretch marks and prevent stretch marks from appearing.
