postheadericon Stretch marks after baby and the beach.. :(?

I had stretch marks with my first pregnancy and I am getting more with this one. Since my belly started poking out, I noticed them and just nonchalantly thought, “My stretch marks are back,” and went on with whatever I was doing. To me, they are my Red Badge of Courage. Many women have stretch marks from just gaining weight. Mine are from the nine months I nurtured life before bringing her into the world. If I didn't have two tank suits that are still in great condition (as I rarely wear them), I would get a two-piece this summer just to show off my baby belly– Stretch marks and extra hair from pregnancy and all.

Personally, I would be very concerned about my daughter that young not only in the heat for long periods of time, but in the sun as well. We go to a private resort town on Lake Erie, OH every summer. Last summer was the first time we went in years. Two summers ago, we not only cold not afford it, with my husband fresh out of grad school, but our daughter was only ten months. Last year, we went, but scheduled our long period of times outside in the afternoon for late afternoon (partially because she napped after lunch) Also, sunscreen was put on, especially her, even if we were only planning on being outside for no more than 10-15 minutes. (This summer I will be much more diligent with the sunscreen as I am pregnant. Last summer, I went without at times just to make sure we had enough for our daughter. This year, I plan on being fully stocked at all times.)

Yes, I will still wear my one piece, whichever one fits better and I will still show off my baby belly. We are also going to an indoor water park/resort this summer for a weekend for a conference that is mainly work for my husband. Again, I will wear my suit and show off my baby belly (assuming one still fits). I'm not ashamed of my body. However, my SIL who is overweight (and who I think is jealous of both my six feet of height and my thin body ) would just say that it is because I AM thin. It's not that, it's just that it wasn't until I was into my 20s that I finally learned body acceptance and confidence. (I used to be overweight in high school.)
