How Do We Get Stretch Marks:

The current theory as to the cause of Stretch Marks is that an incomplete modeling of collagen deep in the skin causes the appearance of Stretch Marks.

Stretch marks (Stria) can appear when there is rapid stretching of the skin. They are often associated with the abdominal enlargement of pregnancy. They can be found in children who have become rapidly obese. They may also occur during the rapid growth of puberty in males and females. Stria are most commonly located on the breasts, hips, thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and flank.

Stretch marks appear as parallel streaks of red, thinned glossy skin that over time become whitish and scarlike in appearance. The stretch marks may be slightly depressed and have a different texture than normal skin.

Stretch marks can appear when there is rapid stretching of the skin. They are often associated with the abdominal enlargement of pregnancy, weight gain, and even skin stretching from weight lifting.

Stretch Marks may also occur as a result of abnormal collagen formation, or a result of medications or chemicals that interfere with collagen formation.

So, in order to improve the look of a stretch mark, you need to stimulate skin remodeling to replace the defective collagen deep in the skin.

Skin Remodeling is the process that removes damaged proteins and older cells from the skin thus removing scars, lesions, stretch marks, and wrinkles while smoothing the skin.

Increasing skin remodeling is the key producing a biologically younger skin and repairing skin damage and imperfections.

Retin-A, the prescription drug Tretinoin, has been used successfully to diminish stretch marks. One theory is that the use of Retin-A helps to build a layer of collagen underneath the surface of the skin, thereby reducing stretch marks, which may be caused by abnormal collagen formation.

The Copper Peptide Creams we recommend for Stretch Marks work faster and better than Retin A!

In addition, Retin A is available by presciption only, and is costly.

Other products can be used successfully to diminish stretch marks and are less expensive and do not require a prescription. Look for products that stimulate collagen formation, such as Copper Peptide Products and Glycolic Acid Products.

In order to improve the look of a stretch mark, you need to stimulate skin remodeling to replace the defective collagen deep in the skin.

Skin Remodeling is the process that removes damaged proteins and older cells from the skin thus removing scars, lesions, stretch marks, and wrinkles while smoothing the skin.

Increasing skin remodeling is the key producing a biologically younger skin and repairing skin damage and imperfections.

A proven strategy for reducing Stretch Marks is a combination of a high strength Glycolic Acid Product combined with a Copper Peptide Product.

Combining both products will give the fastest and most complete results. The Glycolic Acid increases cell turnover and exfoliates the top layer of skin cells as well as stimulates new collagen production deep in the skin. The Copper Peptide actually removes the damaged proteins from the skin and stimulates new collagen and elastin deep in the skin to replace the damaged collagen. The use of both products will treat your stretch marks from deep in the skin as well as smooth the surface of the skin.

The following products are recommended (these products are also for sale above):

Choose one product from each of the following Glycolic Acid Products, to be used along with one of the following Copper Peptide TriReduction Creams (so, for best results, choose one of the Glycolic Acid products listed below and then choose one of the Copper Peptide TriReduction Creams listed below for a total of 2 products):

  • Glycolic Acid Products:

30% Glycolic Acid Peel Kit The 30% Glycolic Acid Peel Kit is an easy to use treatment that you would do just once a week. The once a week application only takes a couple of minutes and can be used by all skin types! Gives very fast results!

Do a Glycolic Acid peel on the stretch mark area once a week, then use the CP TriReduction Cream every night on the area to be treated. This is a very easy method that works! Best when applied with a Large Peel Applicator Fan Brush.

GlyMed 30% Physician Elite Treatment Cream. This is a super strong (30%) Glycolic Acid Treatment Cream which will give fast results. Contains a moisturizing cream base. Choose this cream if you prefer using a strong Glycolic Acid cream in a moisturizing base. You would need to apply the Glycolic Acid cream every night along with the CP TriReduction Cream for best results. Simply mix a pea size amount of each and apply to the area to be treated!

GlyMed 25% AHA Accelerator. This is a strong (25%) Treatment Gel formulated with a combination of Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid and will give fast results. This product is for those who desire a combination of Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid. Contains an oil-free base. Choose this cream if you prefer an oil-free treatment that combines both Lactic Acid and Glycolic Acid. You would need to apply the Glycolic Acid gel every night along with the CP TriReduction Cream for best results. Simply mix a pea size amount of each and apply to the area to be treated!

If your skin is sensitive and you need a less potent Glycolic Acid product, then use the 15% Glycolic Acid Treatment Cream with Vitamin A as your Glycolic Acid product.

  • In addition to a Glycolic Acid Product, choose one of the Copper Peptide TriReduction Products listed below:

TriReduction with Retinol Cream. This is the strongest Copper Peptide Cream on the market and will give the fastest results. It also contains Retinol (Vitamin A derivative) for a skin regenerating boost. This CP Cream is the strongest and most effective one for stretch marks.

TriReduction Basic Cream. This Cream contains high amount of Copper Peptide for maximum results, but does not contain Retinol (Vitamin A derivative). Use this cream if your skin is sensitive to Retinol.

Directions for Use:

If you are using the 30% Glycolic Acid Peel with a CP TriReduction Cream, do a Glycolic Acid peel on the stretch mark area once a week, then use the CP TriReduction Cream every night on the affected area.

If you are using one of the nightly Glycolic Acid Treatment products, simply mix a pea size amount of the Glycolic Acid product with a pea size amount of the Copper Peptide TriRedution Cream and apply to the affected area every night.

Using both a Glycolic Acid product and a Copper Peptide product is a double-whammy against Stretch Marks and gives the fastest and most impressive results!

Glycolic Acid Products at strengths of 30% or more stimulate the production of collagen, and therefore can be succesful in minimizing stretch marks.

Our 30% and 40% Glycolic Peel Kits and 30% GlyMed Physician Elite Glycolic Acid Treatment Cream are very effective chemical treatments for stretch marks.

The Glycolic Acid Peels are applied to the skin with an ordinary cotton-tipped applicator. The Peel takes only a couple of minutes and requires no healing time. A peel should be done no more than once a week.

The Glycolic Treatment Creams in strengths of 15% and 30% are very effectve for helping treat stretch marks. These should be applied every night until the desired results are acheived, usually about 4-6 months.

Copper Peptide products have been proven to stimulate collagen formation, even better and faster than Retin-A! The Copper Peptide TriReduction Creams listed above have been formulated especially for scars and Stretch Marks. They are the strongest Copper Peptide products available!

One explanation for the unexpectedly good results of copper-peptide cream on stretch mark and scar reduction may be due to the activation of metalloprotease activators increase the remodeling of the skin. The metalloproteinases are a family of at least 14 proteins that removes damaged tissue and proteins such as damaged collagen and elastin. The old damaged protein is removed and replaced with new collagen and elastin fibers.

This removes scar tissue, improves stretch marks, and restores skin elasticity and reduces wrinkles. Recent research has established that copper-peptide complexes are potent activators of metalloproteinases and this may explain the scar and stretch mark removal properties of such creams such as Protect and Restore.

For those who are sensitive to using Glycolic Acid Products, many have reported success with Emu Oil in reducing stretch marks. Research has shown that emu oil can thicken the skin, thereby minimizing the look of a stretch mark.

A Copper Peptide Product combined with Emu Oil would give great results in reducing or getting rid of Stretch Marks for those who cannot use Glyoclic Acid.

The combination of a Glycolic Acid product or Emu Oil product used along with a Copper Peptide TriReduction Cream will begin to stimulate the repair of the skin very quickly- within a week the process will begin. Best results start to be seen within 4-6 months as damaged proteins are being removed from the skin and a layer of new collagen is forming deep in the skin. Stretch marks are like scars and need time to be repaired.
