postheadericon CoolBeam / Coolaser for Scars & Stretch Marks

Hi Mary:

I was trying to get info for my 17 year old niece on acne and wound up in this section. Your blog brought back memories. I had adult acne that kept getting worse & worse. I tried antibiotics, acutane, topical, birthcontrol, diets, etc. None of them worked-only made it worse. I then tried blue peel, acid peels, and microderm. Microderm was good, but acne still continued.

In 2004 I decided I was going to try laser treatments. I went several different doctors and laser centers, including Dr. Ourian. Dr. Ourian said that I needed Coolaser. I thought the $3000 he was asking for was outrageous!!!! I also felt that he made to brash a judgment in telling me upfront that the laser facelift would solve all my problems (acne, acne scars, holes, wrinkles, sagging skin from weightloss). Also, the other places I went told me it wouldn't work because I needed to treat the acne, not the surface skin.

Erase Old Acne Scars with Skin Regenerating Ingredients by Valerie DeVette

If you address acne efficiently, you can limit future problems with acne scarring. Removing scars can be very difficult; a majority of acne red marks are formed because bacteria and microbes find their way into follicles at unfavorable times and infect healthy cells inside. Keeping skin clear of bacteria and treating acne inflammations early is the best preventative measure someone can do to have a nice, fresh complexion, free of acne scars.

Most of the time, acne scars show up after nodular cystic acne. Acne appears either due to problems in the sebum canals that interrupt the flow of sebum to the surface of the skin or to the blockage of excess sebum by an outside material like dirt or bacteria. The body innately sends help to the blockage which ends up clogging the pore further, resulting in the nodular cyst you see in the mirror. The final phase is that people don't like the breakout and proceed to pop it, which only pushes the infection deeper into the skin, resulting in a more severe inflammation and ultimately an acne scar.
